Ordered the first batch of dress shirts that should come in a few weeks. The company was nice enough to send me 13 different styles to wear and test out to see which style/fabrics/cut/ I liked most. Mind you, they hooked it up. So werd to them. I wanted to step outside the spectrum of graphic tees for a bit. Mainly because I havent seen myself wear them in such a long time. I do however have some basic logo pieces that are getting prepped. Clean and classic.

So the company that I usually buy blank tech tees came thru and sent me a box of sample shirts, hoodys, and windbreakers. So far, quality and fit wise, I still like AAA (Alstyle). Theyre priced a tad bit higher than the other brands but worth the cost. I tried a bunch of the hanes hoodys and whatnot and they just dont cut it. Im going to continue to print AA when doing hoodys. The windbreakers were the worst. All of the brands were too baggy. They fit weird and the quality is so-so.

So for the upcoming weeks Ill be getting a new cam and laptop so expect more consistent posts. Also, switching to a paid server so a change of address will be in place as well.

As far as design goes, I have to be careful of what I post up because as you recall, another brand from the bay area totally duped my exact design.

New Direction

So with the computer being down and work piling up, I havent had a lot of time to post new designs or ideas. I apologize for that, but thats how it is right now. Getting a new setup soon so the transfer from paper to computer will be more smooth. Re-Doin my workshop right now so pics of that will be up soon. Hopefully after school starts, I can get my screen printing rig going and print from home. Its going to be a big investment, Ive put a lot of other things aside for it so hopefully everything goes according to plan. Its going to be cheaper in the long run which would be good for me as the supplier and YOU the consumer. I still have a big issue with the pricing with other brands. Im all for making some guap but I’m doing this for different reasons. The money is nice but at the end of the day its not what making clothes is all about. I think thats where a lot of brands fall off their path. It was once about thinking hard and designing a product with a lot of depth but somewhere along the lines of glamor and money, they started to half-ass everything.

One of the reasons why I decided to get a screen printer was because I wanted to do everything myself. OG is designed and produced by me. The brand and what you put on is a byproduct of me. It represents me.

As far as the future goes. Simplicity.

The Daily Essentials #1-2

I forgot to post this up yesterday so there will be two for today. Ill be posting up some nicknacks that I find useful on a daily basis. From clothes to accessories and everything in between.

Daily Essentials #1: Space Pen

Wtf is a space pen? Well its a pen that can be used from all angles and surfaces. I found this to be really usefully especially at work where I had to sign 15135p98173 things as well as make customers sign forms. Its compact and fits inside your pockets nicely. It can be copped at REI.

Daily Essentials #2: Moneyclip/Knife/Key Fob

I rarely keep a tri/bi fold wallet anymore, its way too bulky. Slim things down with this moneyclip/knife set. Unless you carry a bunch of cards, this would be ideal if you only have an ID and your credit cards. You can buy this at frys electronics or at the surplus store.

Windbreakers

Ive been cycling alot and with that Ive changed up my outerwear choices from cotton to nylon and other light materials as to not get all sweaty. With my homage to my love for fixed gear bikes and SJF peeps, I will be releasing a nylon windbreaker with nice zips and  550 cords along the hood and waist.

It would look something like that with a few minor changes.

The New Era

Its been awhile since the last post. Its July now and I am glad to say that I will be continuing Ones Gambit aside with my other project. In the last few months I spent time looking at the direction of the industry. Its like every week there is another group of people starting another brand name. Some are decent, most are flops. For the next few months I will be working on more technical and useful items Versus just plain t-shirts. Just got a job and riding alot now so I am going to cater to those needs in terms of clothes. But even when the shirts come out, they’re going to be put at a very low price point. Frankly, I came to the conclusion that it was ridiculous to be spending 30$+ on a plain tee and a few graphics. Im growing up and so is the brand.

So for the next few seasons you will be seeing: Cardigans, windbreakers, hoodys, crewnecks, board shorts, and a few more things I have under wraps.
